Hair has been a passion of mine for as long as I can remember. My love for Fashion, Theatre and Pop Culture and my excellent training at Gene Juarez combine into thoughtful, current and precise custom cuts and colors for you.  I specialize in Highlighting, Balayage, Extensions and Haircuts. Not only am I the owner of 2nd Street Hair Boutique but I am also the resident hairstylist for The Island Shakespeare Festival and lend my talent to our local Whidbey Island Center for the Arts for hair design and wig work.

I invite you to be my guest at the salon: let me treat you and your hair to the perfect blend of personalized and professional service.

Meet Chava, Stylist/Salon Manager

Gene Juarez trained and Instructor of Cosmetology licensed, I’ve always had a passion for anything that glitters and sparkles so naturally the beauty industry became the place for me. There really isn’t a better feeling than the one I get when a client is able to see in themselves the beauty I see in them. There is a saying I love that says, “There is a word for those with the audacity to think they can make this great, big world a more beautiful place one person at a time… hairdresser” This hits home for me. My goal is, and will always be, to inspire my clients to find the beauty in themselves and others. I specialize in haircuts, colors, bridal and occasion hair, as well as perms and highlights.

 Meet Natasha, Stylist:

I grew up right here on the south end of Whidbey Island. My great grandfather Frank Nichols is actually the man who started Nichols Brothers Boat Builders so my family is pretty much the epitome of an “island family”.

I am a graduate of the Gene Juarez Academy.  Ridiculously passionate about hair and making people beautiful, I’m so glad that I chose this field of work. My beauty/style inspiration is anything from the 20s and 60s eras. I love wearing loose fitting dresses, colorful tights, and vintage shoes. I don’t know why but I have always been drawn to the beauty in those times. In styling hair I love putting a modern twist on vintage looks. I specialize in Men’s design and am skilled and passionate about helping people find their own style!

Meet Katie, Stylist:

Hair has been something that I’ve always loved to do. I enjoy making others feel beautiful and proud of the way they look, whether it be through a new haircut, color, or even a style just for the day. I am inspired by the people and things that I see on a day to day basis, and love trying to recreate or put my own twist on a look that I see.

I recently graduated from The Gene Juarez Academy as a student ambassador, and while in school I also received multiple awards, such as Student of the Month andFeatured Student Artist.  I can’t wait to take this next step in my career and see where this industry takes me.
